New Years Eve Survival Guide for the Sensory Sensitive

New Years Eve can be a celebratory event, but for many autistic individuals and others with sensory processing differences, such as Down Syndrome, ADHD, SPD and Hyperacusis, fireworks can be downright painful. Individuals whose brains process sound more significantly (Hypersensitive) can feel anything from discomfort to pain from booming and high-pitched sounds – which fireworks have plenty of!  Individuals who have witnessed a war also often struggle with fireworks. If you have sensory processing differences, will be with someone that does, or are a venue that will have fireworks on New Years Eve, please share this free Social Narrative to help those that struggle with fireworks!
