Sensory Guides

Also created by Sensory Access, Sensory Guides are a detailed break-down of a musical, play or ballet into each scene with full sensory-impact information. This provides a thorough preview of each moment of sensory impact so the viewer can prepare themselves, allowing patrons with cognitive, sensory or other disabilities to fully engage in a show and know when to avoid too much sensory impact.

For instance, when a show simply states “This show has strobe lighting,” anyone with strobe-sensitive epilepsy must avoid the show. However, by clearly specifying when the strobe lighting occurs, these individuals can enjoy the show with their community and take necessary precautions during those moments.
