At Lollapalooza, Sensory Access created the following supports:
– A designated quiet area where attendees could take a break from the noise and crowds and reset their sensory system.– Accessible viewing areas with clear sightlines to the stage and less crowding.– Accommodations for service animals, such as water stations and relief areas.
– Communication cards to help attendees communicate their needs
– Support at stages if individuals become overwhelmed
– Headphones to borrow free of charge, as well as use of fidget, earplugs and other sensory tools
These accommodations made the festival experience more inclusive for all attendees, regardless of their sensory needs.
