About this Event
Whether or not you are quarantined, to truly embrace the holiday spirit, you need to experience the holiday lights! From New York to Sydney, Los Angeles to Paris, DC to Rome, Fairy lights. Festival of Lights. Night of the Candles, etc. These global light displays have been a part of holiday celebrations for centuries.
Did you know that the Christmas tree in Indonesia actually has feathers on it instead of needles? Is it true that Latvia had the first Christmas tree of any country on earth? Come experience the decorations of the season as we take a quick spin around the world to see who might have the most unusual lights, the best festivals, and of course the most original trees. We’ll also learn a little bit about the meticulous planning for our own National Tree and Pageant of Peace on the Ellipse just south of the White House.
Join a virtual tour guide who will take us around the world for an international holiday lights experience. From the dedicated farmland lights experience to the big cities. Learn their origins and cultural significance. Covering Christmas, Chanukah, Kwanza, and New Year’s Eve!
Due to the nature of this event, we do not anticipate any sensory issues. We suggest keeping your volume and brightness levels accessible.
