Join Taproot’s professional improv teachers and join the fun as we Re-Ignite the Mind with Improv play at Taproot Theatre! This class follows the Alzheimer’s Cafe which goes from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at One Cup Coffee Co. at the Stage Door Cafe in the same location. Improv students engage fully in the present moment, making improvisation a perfect theatre class for individuals with early stage memory loss (ESML). There is no memory requirement, just the delight of participating in a creative experience that releases the imagination while giving a sense of accomplishment, self-confidence and social enrichment. Taproot’s classes, taught by trained theatre professionals, promise an hour where participants find success as they learn new things, interact socially and live creatively in the moment. These classes are highly recommended for both those experiencing ESML and their care partners as class exercises can add a wonderful new dimension to shared daily life.
This event offers trained staff, dementia-friendly activity, and wheelchair access.
$10 drop-in fee. Care partners attend free.
The Greenwood Alzheimer’s Cafe proceed this event in the same building. For more information about Alzheimer’s Cafes see http://www.momentiaseattle.org/programs
